Jug Hollow Farm
1998, 2007 Restorations and 2016 Renovation
We first worked for this client when we restored Jug Hollow
Farm and added an addition. A few years later, we renovated the master suite and
made structural repairs to the original 18th-century part of the
house. Now that the kids were gone, they wanted to downsize, and the budget was
tight. Using the existing kitchen and adjacent rooms, we removed walls, and added
windows and doors, opening up the entire back of the house to a deck, the yard, and the woods. We salvaged the kitchen cabinets and reconfigured them with a
few custom ones added. A large island creates a walkway that goes straight from
the garage to the house and no longer through the kitchen. They both love to
cook and entertain, so the island also works as a cooking, prep, and service
area accessible and communicative with the living room/family room and the
eating areas
