The original Fisher farm dates back to the 1770s. In collaboration with Peter Zimmerman architects, SunPower restored and authenticated of this beautiful farmhouse to a comfortable and energy efficient home. The interior and exterior details of this job exemplify SunPower craftsmens’ special attention to masonry and millwork. A barn on the Fisher property was also salvaged and saved from collapse, its structure restored with traditional timber framing methods.

The farmhouse’s exterior walls are built from locally-quarried and salvaged stone to match original building materials. Both exterior and interior walls are framed with high R values and feature high-performace windows to super-insulate and seal air.  Additionally, a geothermal radiant heating system was installed in the farmhouse.

Due to our innovative design and energy-efficient construction, SunPower was once again able to turn a 2000 square-foot home to a 6000 sqaure-foot home without increasing electricity bills.
